The "Anjaan" team on Tuesday celebrated the success of the film's teaser, which crossed the 1 million mark within 48 hours.
Suriya, "Anjaan" director Lingusamy, UTV Motion Pictures chief Dhananjayan Govind, editor Antony and dialogue writer Brinda Sarathy met fans and mediapersons at a star hotel in Chennai. Suriya cut a cake with the film's team to celebrate the overwhelming response that the teaser has fetched. The actor posed for pictures with fans and answered to their questions.
Talking about his experience of working with the director, Suriya said: "Working with Lingusamy was a pleasure and there was no pressure at all. It was happiness from day-one to last day of shoot and when it was pack-up time, I felt like the last day in college. He knows how to satisfy the audiences and hence I was relaxed," according to Sify.
"Anjaan is just not an action film packaged to satisfy the opening weekend crowd but the breezy romance, sentiments, songs, visuals and over-all packaging is going to be lapped up by all section of audiences," the actor added.
Suriya plays the role of Raju Bhai in the gangster film, which also has Samantha, Vidyut Jamwal, Manoj Bajpai and Soori in pivotal roles.
The film's shooting is completed and the post-production is going on in full swing. "Anjaan" is gearing up to release on 15 August for the Independence Day weekend. The film's audio and trailer launch is expected to take place in a grand manner on 17 July in the presence of several celebrities and huge number of fans.
Meanwhile, the film's makers are planning some interesting promotional activities for "Anjaan." They will be releasing an "Anjaan" video game on the occasion of the actor's birthday, which happens to be on 23 July.
"We are planning to release the Anjaan video game this month on Suriya's birthday. It will definitely be an interesting and different attempt," Dhananjayan Govind of UTV Motion Pictures told Deccan Chronicle.
"The game is very similar to the theme of the film and the story line and will completely action-based as the movie is also a commercial action film. The graphics, and the quality of the game will be of a high standard as the gaming application is developed by India's well known gaming company, Hungama. I have already enjoyed the trailer version of it, and I am sure the actor's fans would love it too," he added.
"Anjaan" is one of the most-anticipated films of 2014 and expectations are high as Suriya has a huge fan following. The film's first look posters and the teaser offer a lot of promise and it remains to be if the action entertainer will impress the audience with its content.
