"Manam is an outstanding film...my heart fills up with joy when plots like these work...Congrats to the entire team especially to director Vikram for his `out of the box' idea!" posted Mahesh Babu, sharing his appreciation for the movie. The post has been reposted close to 600 times, kicking up a barrage of speculation about the likelihood of Vikram directing the superstar.
Well, Vikram Kumar has been the toast of Tollywood since the release of Manam. Every other day , rumours are afloat about Vikram's next movie and the Tollywood star who will act in it. But it is reliably learnt that there is more to the "Mahesh film" than what meets the eye, as a source tells us: "Vikram met the actor and narrated a storyline." Apparently , Mahesh was impressed with the Akkineni-multistarrer and shared as much with Nagarjuna saying, "How were you convinced that such an out-of-the-box idea would work at the BO? Hats off to your courage." "I told him that Vikram is a very good director and that he convinced us with the clarity in his narration," shared f Nag at a press conference.
Admittedly , Mahesh confessed to Nag that he is listening to a story from Vikram and "urged Nag to listen to the story and share his thoughts about it," t to which the Akkineni scion was only too happy to oblige. Buzz is that Vikram has already begun writing a script as well. However, sources close to Mahesh indicate that's "not true". "Well, the rumours aren't entirely baseless, there is a proposal. Mahesh loved Manam, but that's all there is to it. It's too nascent a stage, no commitments or confirmations have been made yet," says a source.
Well Mahesh Babu has a slew of films lined up -one each with Koratala Siva, Vamsi Paidipally , Trivikram, Raj and DK and Mani Ratnam. So we will have to wait and see if Vikram gets a nod ahead of any of these waiting in the line.
