Kamal Haasan was conferred with the prestigious Padma Bhushan award earlier today by Pranab Mukherjee, the President of India. Back in 1990, he had received the Padma Shri award and after 24 years, the government had conferred him with Padma Bhushan award for his contribution to cinema.
In his career spanning more than five decades, he has acted in nearly 200 films in almost all the major languages in India. Congratulating her father, Shruti Haasan expressed her joy on her micro-blogging page saying, "I'm such a proud daughter today!!! Congratulations bapuji!!!!! (sic)."
This year, he'll soon be seen in Vishwaroopam 2 and currently, he's acting in Ramesh Arvind's Uthama Villain. Incidentally, Kamal Haasan had written the script for the film and he'll be playing two different roles which are set in different timeframes.
