RGV's Ice Cream Movie Budget: Only Rs. 2 Lakhs 11 Thousand

Maybe some people will not imagine at least a YouTube short-film in that budge if one has to think about production values. But maverick director Ram Gopal Varma is always an exception when it comes to making low-budget films. In the context of reviewers predicting huge losses for 'Ice Cream' movie makers, Ramu tried to point out that reviewers have foolishly underestimated him.

'Ice Cream is made with a budget of just 2,11,832 rupees only. We haven't paid to any technician involved in the movie, and even costumes of Navdeep and Tejaswi are also their own. Only incurred expenses are house rent, tea and petty bills', said RGV, talking about the commercial success of his horror comedy 'Ice Cream'. 

Elaborating more, Ramu said, 'We didn't used any other equipment other than Gimbal rig for flow-cam technology. There are no other cameras, cranes, Jimmy jibs, special lights used for the movie. As everything is digital, it is just editing and printing the final with remixed sound. There is no other production expenditure'.

With productions cut by 90%, and film crew including artists and technicians cut by another 90%, definitely this budget is possible. As 'Ice Cream' producer got profits now, he will pay money to each and every technician involved in the movie at a special success meet. 'If everyone understands how Ice Cream is made, then a new wave parallel film industry could be developed in each and every nook and corner of Telugu states', Ramu concluded.
