Like never-before, first-of-its kind in India a State has chalked out a pitch-perfect plan to provide Power for all (PFA) for 24 hours power per day. Yes, Chandra Babu Naidu-led Andhra Pradesh is going to score that record. The State utilities have drawn up a 10-point formula to ensure quality, reliable and affordable electricity supply to the consumers including households, business establishments, farmers, small-scale industries, large-scale industries, Multi-National Companies etc. Simply put, the plan covers domestic, commercial and industrial power users.
According to reports, the comprehensive report, after finalization and approval from Mr Naidu, would be submitted to the Centre by July 21 for its nod. Energy Efficiency Services Ltd (EESL), a Central Public Sector Unit, shall take up a survey on Demand side management-based energy Efficient Lighting Programmes (DELP) after approval from the State Government.
APGENCO, APTRANSCO and CMDs of power distribution companies (DISCOMs) and other top officials of the energy utilities met and discussed in detail over the challenges ahead. It is learnt that a 10-point formula was proposed to reduce the demand-supply gap with precise forecasting of requirements of power by all sectors.
