Venkatesh Clarifies Why He Came Out of Ram Charan's 'Govindudu Andarivadele'

Actor Venkatesh, who was approached for a pivotal role in Ram Charan's "Govindudu Andarivadele," has clarified on why he backed out of the project.

The actor was supposed to play the role of Charan's uncle, which eventually went to actor Srikanth.

In a recent interview, Venkatesh revealed that he moved out of the project because the role did not justify his image. The actor also had a few positive words to say about the film. He said that the Krishna Vamsi directorial boasts of a good script and the film will turn out to be a big hit at the box office.

"I was supposed to do Charan's uncle's role, but as the entire unit, and the director later felt the role might not suit my image, I decided to back out. GAV has a superb story line, and will surely be a huge hit," Venkatesh was quoted as saying by 123telugu.

The actor is currently basking in the success of his recently-released film "Drushyam," the remake of the Malayalam blockbuster flick "Drishyam." The thriller family drama has received positive comments from the critics and the audience alike. It has managed to perform well not just in India, but also in overseas markets.

Venkatesh will be next seen in "Gopala Gopala," the remake of the Bollywood film "Oh My God." He will be co-starring with Pawan Kalyan in this satirical film.

"Govindudu Andarivadele," touted to be a family entertainer, is one of the most-awaited films of 2014. The film will have Ram Charan and Kajal Aggarwal playing the lead roles for the third time after "Magadheera" and "Naayak." They also starred in "Yevadu," but were not paired in the film.

"Govindudu Andarivadele" also has Kamalinee Mukherjee, Prakash Raj, Jayasudha and Rahman in supporting roles. The shooting of the film is progressing well and is expected to be completed soon.

Its music is composed by Yuvan Shankar Raja. Details about the audio launch are yet to be revealed. The film's first look posters, which were released for Charan's birthday in March, were well received by the actor's fans.

The first look teaser of the film is expected to be released soon. The film has become red hot in trade circles after the makers showed the teaser to trade people. According to Andhraboxoffice website, the Ceeded and Nellore rights of the film have been acquired for ₹8.1 crore and ₹2 crore plus, respectively.

The family drama, produced by Bandla Ganesh, is gearing up for a grand release in October.
