Actors and actresses changing their names is nothing new and the latest celebrity, who has opted to change her name is Lakshmi Rai. A source close to the actress say that she has opted for the name change, as her present name indicates her as a soft person and so as to match the action oriented roles, she will do in the future.
Lakshmi Rai has changed her name to Raai Laxmi. Explaining the reason for changing her name, Lakshmi Rai said that she is considering to change her name for a long while and she did it now. She also said that though her family named her after goddess Lakshmi no one calls he by that name and call her either Raai or Lakshmi Rai.
On the insistence of her father, Lakshmi Rai changed her name to Raai Laxmi and said that all her movies will credit her as Raai Laxmi from now on.
