Akshay Kumar-Sonakshi Sinha's "Holiday – A Soldier is Never Off duty" has witnessed slight growth on the second day (Saturday).
The action entertainer minted ₹12.18 crore on the first day (6 June) of its release. Its collections improved slightly with the film raking ₹12.30 crore on Saturday (7 June). Its two-day figures amount to ₹24.48 crore at the Indian box office.

The film has surpassed the opening weekend collections of Tiger Shroff's "Heropanti" and Varun Dhawan's "Main Tera Hero", which minted ₹21.33 crore and ₹22.73 crore, respectively. The Akshay Kumar starrer is expected to witness an upward trend on Sunday and earn good collections in its first weekend.

Directed by AR Murugadoss, "Holiday" is about an army man who tracks down a terrorist group and deactivates the sleeper cells. The film is a remake of south blockbuster "Thuppakki" and has Akshay reprising Tamil star Vijay's role.
"Holiday" took a good opening, though the film failed to beat the first day collections of Salman Khan's "Jai Ho" which amounted to ₹17.75 crore. The action entertainer did not even surpass the first day collections of Akshay's last release "Boss", which had minted ₹12.75 crore.
"Hoilday" is expected to end the first weekend on a decent note by earning over ₹35 crore. If the film manages to collect more than ₹13 crore on Sunday (8 June), it will easily beat the first weekend collections of "2 States" (₹38.06 crore) and "Shaadi Ke Side Effects" (₹34.23 crore). However, it remains to be seen if it will be able to cross ₹40 crore mark and beat the debut weekend collections of "Boss" (₹40.75 crore).

"Holiday" is Akshay's first release of 2014 and the film has hit the screens nearly eight months after "Boss" made it to theatres. The action flick has minted mixed reviews from critics, which might affect its business. It will be interesting to see as to how the film fares during the weekdays. With no big releases for the next two weeks, "Holiday" is expected to have a good run at the box office.
