Charmi expected Pratighatana film to turn the tables for her. She did her best to promote this film on social network as well as other media. But no one really cared about this film directed by veteran director Tammareddy Bharadwaja. This film is based on real life incidents and focused on highlighting the atrocities on women.
Charmi thought that this would appeal to female audience. She would have expected critical acclaim at the least. However this film is panned by many critics that have watched it. Many of the prominent critics didn't even find Pratighatana to be worthy enough to write a review.
The film turned out to be a disastrous fare on the collections front too. It was released in very less theaters and still failed to get decent collections. With the collections clocking below Rs. 1000/- for most of the shows, distributors are pulling Pratighatana out of theaters to save rents. Meanwhile Charmi started shooting for her next film Mantra 2 and as usual she is hoping that this would resurrect her fading career.
