Ace director Mani Ratnam's next project is back in the news. While it was believed that the film would feature Telugu stars Nagarjuna and Mahesh Babu in the lead, sources now say that Mahesh Babu is no longer a part of the cast.
Says a credible source, "There's been a change in the film's cast. While the film will have Nagarjuna playing one of the lead roles, the team is on the look out for a suitable star for the other role as Mahesh Babu had to opt out, ostensibly, due to date issues. The film will also feature several other top stars including Aravind Swamy."
This is the second time that Nagarjuna and Mani Ratnam are working together. Their first film together Geethanjali (Telugu), which was released as Idhayathai Thirudathey in Tamil, set the cash registers ringing at the box office.
"This film too will be a colourful film like Mani sir's Alaipayuthey and Geethanjali. Shooting for the film is likely to start in June," adds the source, who however says that the heroines of the film are yet to be finalized.
