Dhanush's 25th film "Velai Illa Pattadhaari" ("VIP") is all set to have a big release on 18 July.
The advanced booking for the film has commenced in several theatres and it has got fantastic response from the fans. "Velai Illa Pattadhaari" is expected to take a good opening on the first day of its release.
The Tamil Nadu box office is witnessing a low phase with the recently-released films having failed to set the cash registers ringing at the box office.
"VIP" will be the first biggie to release in the second half of 2014. Post the release of "Kochdaiiyaan", small budget films have dominated the silver screen. No films of big stars have released and fans have been eagerly waiting for the upcoming releases of 2014.
Besides "VIP", action-thriller "Sathuranga Vettai" and comedy-thriller "Iruku Aana Illa" are also set to hit the screens on 18 July. However, the major competition will be between "VIP" and "Sathuranga Vettai", as the latter is carrying huge positive buzz in film circles.
The trade is looking forward to these two films to perform well at the box office. The performance of "Sathuranga Vettai" will depend on the critics' reviews and the positive word of mouth from the audience as the film has lesser-known actors. On the other hand, "VIP" is likely to take grand openings on the first day as Dhanush has a huge market. Whether the film will impress the audience is something we need to wait and watch.
Directed by cinematographer-turned-director Velraj, "VIP" is deemed as a romantic action entertainer. The film has Amala Paul, Vivek, Samuthirakani and Saranya Ponvannan in pivotal roles. The film's music, composed by Anirudh, has already been received well by the audience.
