Fans of Bollywood evergreen-actress Rekha, who were eagerly waiting for the release of "Super Nani," directed by Indra Kumar, will have to wait for some more time to see her comeback performance.
The much-awaited film of the legendary actress, which was to be released in April, has been postponed as a few scenes had to be re-shot.
The previous release date of the film was destined to clash with the Rajkumar Rao-starrer "Citylights." However, re-shooting has delayed the film's release.
"At least 20 days worth of footage had to be re-shot with Rekha and the other actors. Induji wanted to add better comic punches to the dialogue," Mumbai Mirror quoted a source.
The "Umrao Jaan" actress had to travel for some work, but she cancelled all her plans to re-shoot the scenes. "She had to travel out of the city for some commitments, but still gave priority to the shoot. We are planning to release the film on 29 August," Kumar told the tabloid.
Meanwhile, Kumar has said the decision to change a few portions of the film was taken by him. "I had re-shot portions of Dil, Raja, Beta too. More recently, I did it for Grand Masti. All went on to become big hits," the filmmaker told the tabloid.
Apart from a few scenes, Kumar has also decided to change a song featuring the all-time diva. "The film's composer Harshit gave me a new song, which I thought was better than the one I had previously filmed," stated Kumar.
Padmashri awardee Rekha, portraying the protagonist in the film, plays a grandmother who is inspired by her grandson to turn glamorous, despite being in her late 50's.
Meanwhile, Kumar is all set to give his daughter Shwetha, whose Bollywood debut, with Himesh Reshammiya in the film "Karzzzz", was a flop, another chance to showcase her talent in acting and make it big in Bollywood.
Shwetha will be playing the role of Rekha's neighbour in the film. The movie also features Sharman Joshi, who acts as Rekha's grandson, and veteran actor Anupam Kher.
