Samantha as Queen of Tollywood

Samantha's first 2014 release was Manam, in which played the role of a mother for the first time in her career. The film received highly positive reviews and Samantha's performance was unanimously praised by the critics.

She is simultaneously working on two high budget Tamil productions, Anjaan directed by N. Linguswamy, and Kaththi directed by AR Murugadoss.

She has been selected to portray the female lead in the Telugu films, V. V. Vinayak's next with Bellamkonda Suresh's son, Sai Srinivas, and Santosh Srinivas' next, titled Rabhasa. 

Another film, Autonagar Surya opposite Naga Chaitanya under the direction of Deva Katta has been completed and is going through post-production work.

 She will also play the lead role in director Vijay Milton's upcoming Tamil film tentatively titled Idam Maari Irangiyavan, opposite Vikram, the shooting of which commenced from 26th May 2014 and in director Trivikram Srinivas's untitled Telugu project, opposite Allu Arjun.
