Ajith fans are in for a real treat on his birthday, which falls on 1 May.
The actor's 25th film "Amarkalam" is expected to be release for the second time on the occasion of his birthday. "Amarkalam", which hit screens in 1999, is one of the most important films in Ajith's career. Until "Amarkalam" happened, Ajith had a romantic image, but post the release of the film, he was catapulted into the league of mass action heroes.
"Amarkalam" performed well at the box office and turned out to be a big hit. It was during the shooting of the film that Ajith fell in love with Shalini and the couple tied the knot in 2000.
The action entertainer was directed by Saran and produced by Venkateswaralayam. The film's music was composed by Bharadwaj and some of the songs including "Satham Illadha Thanimai Ketten," by S.P.Balasubramaniam, turned out to be big hits.
After nearly 15 years, "Amarkalam" is all set to hit screens once again. The film has been digitally enhanced using the Digital Intermediate (DI) conversion technique. The DI-restored version is expected to release on 1 May as a birthday treat for Ajith fans.
If all goes well, Ajith fans might enjoy a double treat on the occasion of the actor's birthday. It is well-known that thala (fondly referred by his fans) has commenced the shooting of his new project with Gautham Menon. Buzz is that the film's titled (tentatively called as "Thala 55") might be revealed for the actor's birthday.
It is being speculated that "Thala 55", touted to be an action entertainer, will be named as "Aayiram Thottaakkal" (1000 bullets). However, an official annoncement is still awaited and it is expected to be made on 1 May.
